Pot Rouge

Bobbi Brown Nectar and Nude Collection

Hello!

First of all, many apologies for the radio silence these past weeks.  There have been some pretty major changes going on in my life recently; I have got a job and moved to London, which has all been very new and exciting.  However, now that I am feeling much more settled again, I am ready to return to blogging with renewed enthusiasm!

In the time I’ve been away I have built up a pretty big selection of new things I want to tell you about, starting with Bobbi Brown’s new Nectar and Nude collection.

It was my birthday earlier this month and a rather special someone, with a few nudges in the right direction from me, gave me some bits from this mouth-wateringly beautiful range.  I knew just from the name that this collection was going to be right up my alley and I wasn’t wrong.

I was given the Nectar and Nude Eye Palette, the Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in the shade Hibiscus and the Nectar nail polish.  It all comes in the sleek black Bobbi Brown packaging which looks so luxurious and sophisticated.  The products inside are also just what you would expect from this brand: excellent quality, gorgeous shades and lovely formulas.

This is the first time I have used one of Bobbi Brown’s Pot Rouges and I am definitely a convert.  The colour of ‘Hibiscus’ was slightly overwhelming the first time I saw it in the pan but once applied, the colour sheers out to give you a stunning, lit-from-within glow that lasts all day.  The fact that it is a multi-purpose product for cheeks and lips is just the cherry on the cake.

Since receiving the Nectar nail polish on my birthday, nothing else has been on my nails.  The colour is just STUNNING!  It’s a gorgeous peachy coral and is absolutely perfect for this time of year.  It’s sophisticated enough to get away with at work but also adds the perfect pop of colour.  I find this nail polish slightly difficult and messy to apply (this is most likely due to user error!) because it doesn’t have the thick, all-you-need-is-one-swipe brushes that I like, but it is absolutely worth it for the colour and, once on, it lasts well.

Finally, the pièce de résistance: the Nectar and Nude Eyeshadow Palette.  It is a beautiful neutral palette with four matte and two shimmery shades.  I wore some of the shadows from this palette for my birthday supper and it is really lovely.  The pigmentation is great and the palette even comes with a good sized mirror and a lovely dual-ended brush (no tacky foam applicators here!).

Bobbi Brown is a high-end brand and this is, of course, reflected in the prices.  I have a few Bobbi Brown items in my makeup collection, in fact I think the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation with SPF15 was the first foundation I ever bought, and they are all such good quality; I have never been disappointed.  If you want to invest in some really lovely makeup this spring, then I highly recommend heading over to the Bobbi Brown counter and having a look at their Nectar and Nude range.
