Review: Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream

When it comes to skin care, I like to keep things as natural as possible.  I don’t like using harsh chemicals on my skin and so tend to opt for brands that use natural ingredients wherever possible.  Not only are natural skincare products better for the environment but they are better for your skin.  Skin is the body’s largest organ and any product that you apply will have immediate access to your bloodstream, so using products that contain natural ingredients promote health and beauty both inside and out!

Luckily, Antipodes shares my skincare philosophy, using extracts from sustainably grown plants from their native New Zealand that are scientifically proven to protect your skin.

And their Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream is no exception.  Its ingredients include:

  • Vitamin C from kiwis – proven to promote the production of collagen
  • Avocado oil – which moisturises and rejuvenates the skin
  • Carrot seed oil – has antioxidant properties that improve skin tone and elasticity as well as protecting skin from environmental aggressors
  • Jojoba oil – moisturises without clogging pores and restores skins natural oil
  • Aloe Vera gel – which soothes and hydrates skin

To mention only a few!

All these goodies mix together to make the Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream a little super-product.

It has a rich, creamy consistency but is not too heavy on the delicate eye area.  It feels extremely cool and soothing when applied to the skin which helps to reduce any puffiness or redness.  Despite the fact that this product is fragrance free, it does have an extremely subtle, natural scent that is very pleasant.

As I am only 23, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is not currently at the top of my agenda.  However, I have been using this cream preventatively and also to care for the very delicate skin around my eyes.  It is extremely moisturising which is perfect for this time of year when the combination of cold winds and central heating can wreak havoc on your skin, leaving it dry and irritated.  It also smoothes and softens the eye area which helps makeup to apply easily and seamlessly.

I absolutely love the packaging.  The box, which is of course recyclable, contains a lovely little glass pot which feels extremely luxurious and well made.  The tub is only small (30ml), but I have been using this cream for over a month now and, as you can see from the pictures, it still looks practically full.  In my opinion the price of £24.99 is totally worth it.  It is a mid range product – you can buy some for the £10-£15 mark and there is no limit to how much you can pay at the top end! But a little goes a really long way and this product will last you for months.  I highly recommend!

I hope you’re having a good weekend 🙂
